In May 2021, Threading Change, the Global Shapers Canadian Community, and the Triple C Collective came together to host a series of livestream fundraisers to raise money for organizations that will advance anti-Asian racism policy, build educational capacity, and increase the visibility of Asian artists and changemakers in the community.
Fundraiser Pt 1: Taking Policy Action Against Anti-Asian Racism
Teresa Woo-Paw
Teresa is the first Canadian woman of Asian descent elected to the Calgary Board of Education, the Alberta Legislature, and Cabinet Minister in Alberta. She founded and built 8 non-profit entities in 40 years. A true leader in the field, Teresa received an appointment as the Chair of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation by the Governor in Council in 2018.
Han-Ru Zhou
Han-Ru Zhou is an Associate Professor of Public Law at the Université de Montréal Faculty of Law, and a past Sproul Research Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley, and Boulton Fellow at McGill University. Professor Zhou teaches, researches, and consults in the areas of constitutional law and human rights law.
Amy Go
Amy Go is the President of Chinese Canadian National Council for Social Justice. Chinese Canadian National Council educates, engages, and advocates for social justice and equity for all in Canada. Amy is a social worker by training and has dedicated her professional career to serving immigrants and seniors.
